Another Case of Faking a Photo
Its been since 2012 when we got hold of Nokia using images from DSLR and passed them off as having been taken by their smartphones. Fast forward to 2018 and now Huawei is in hot water for the same offense.
In a recent ad for Huawei Nova 3i, everything was fine and great. Catchy ad, great music, captivating actors, all great ingredients of a well done advertisement until when one of the actors posted a behind the scene footage of the production.
Clearly you can see the man's arm stretched out seemingly taking a selfie with his companion. Lo and behold he wasn't holding anything on his left hand. His hand rather went way past the lens of a DSLR. It was clearly staged and getting a picture with that hand will be a miracle.
That photo clearly would be coming from a DSLR. I know for a fact that Huawei has made great strides in camera phone technology and they should have been confident enough to use the same. Using a DSLR image for marketing purposes leaves a wrong impression about the quality of the images from their smartphone.
Lets wait how Huawei will react to this so if they do, we shall post an update as soon as its out.
